HEARTLAND DIVERSITY LEGAL JOB FAIR
19th Annual Heartland Diversity Legal Job Fair
August 12, 2023
Planning for the 2023 Heartland Diversity Legal Job Fair to take place at Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association Headquarters. We are anticipating hosting the Job Fair in person. KCMBA will continuously monitor local, regional and national guidelines for hosting in-person events and will adapt accordingly. This page will be consistently updated with the latest information regarding the status of the job fair. Check back for additional registration details in early April 2023.
The primary purpose of the Heartland Diversity Legal Job Fair (HDLJF) is to increase the participation of under-represented groups in the practice of law in Kansas City. The founders and organizers of the HDLJF strongly believe that the inclusion of diversity in its many facets, including, without limitation, race, color, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, national origin, disability, marital status, age and veteran status, enriches us all.
In December 2021, KCMBA launched the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) Action Plan/Collaborative – a forum for developing, curating, and sharing a range of practical, effective law firm DEI resources, practices, and strategies that fit the respective needs of differently situated firms, and for considering and recommending innovative practices and evolving DEI strategies over time.
The shared purpose of the DEI Collaborative is to help member firms achieve continued, meaningful, and measurable progress toward the firms’ shared objectives of diversity, representation, inclusion and belonging. HDLJF is at the heart of their ongoing commitment dating back to the Fall of 2005. KCMBA Collaborative is striving towards greater diversity, equity, and inclusion in the greater Kansas City legal community where all can thrive.
